getting settled

Once you arrive you may not want to leave - Get Stocked Up, Kick off your shoes and Settle In :)
Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen so you can enjoy cooking meals in the exact style of your choosing while also significantly saving on food expenses.
There are numerous options nearby for you to stock up on whatever food and drink needs you have.

Pettenuzzo's Your Independent Grocer is only a 15-20 minute drive away (Open 7:00am - 8:00pm/6:00pm on Sunday) and has a full grocery store, Pharmacy and Joe Fresh clothing section. Pettenuzzo's is right across the street from a Canadian Tire for outdoor sporting goods, beach toys etc.
A Tim Horton's, McDonalds and gas station are also found right beside the Pettenuzzo's grocery store. Pettenuzzo's also now offers a great selection of wine, beer, and coolers.
A Beer Store and LCBO (Open 10am to 6pm/11am-6 on Sunday) may also be found in Kirkland Lake.

MacPherson's General Store is a short 15 minute drive away along Hwy 11 North for gas, local souvenirs, basic sundries and liquor store supplies. The Kenogami Bridge Inn is a 2 min drive from Macpherson's General Store and offer's pub food with lakeside views.

If you are coming from the South and want to stock up along the way there is an Austin's Valumart in Englehart 25 minutes away. If you are driving up later in the day and are trying to grab dinner before getting to the cottage Englehart has a restaurant called Cousin's that has family friendly meals for dine-in or take out and is open to 8am-8pm Sun,M,T,W,Th and until 9pm F-Sat. Additionally there is a Walmart (on Hwy 11 North) with a full grocery store in New Liskeard (45 minutes) from the cottage.

If you are coming from the North and want to stock up there is an A&G Freshmart and LCBO (liquor store) in Matheson a 45 minute drive from the cottage.

Access

Coming from Toronto/Southern Ontario: 
1. Take Highway 11 North until you reach the turn off for Hwy 112 (this will be on your right).
2. Drive on Hwy 112 for 8.0 km (approx. 6 min) until you see the green sign (on your left hand side of the road) for "Rosegrove Road". Turn onto Rosegrove Road.
3. Rosegrove road is a well-maintained gravel road. Slow your speed to 30km/hr or less and watch the turns and for bunny rabbits/wildlife etc especially if you are arriving closer to sunset.
4. Drive on Rosegrove Road (stay straight-no turns) for 3.0 km (approx 4 min) until you see a painted green sign (on the left hand side of the road) saying "McChesney Northshore Acres" and the small green firemarker sign saying "3130".
5. Turn left onto this cottage road. Please slow to 10km/hr or less. After approx 20 seconds you will see a fork in the cottage road - instead of driving straight take the fork to the left. You will see the six cabins in front of you. Drive the 100m to behind the third cottage (coral pink in colour), park, and you will find the property manager inside ready to check you in.

Road-Tripping from Toronto/Southern Ontario: 
If you are road-tripping up from Southern Ontario/Toronto then a great pit stop or two along the way that have become family favourites for us are a stop at Weber's for grilled burgers, fries and shakes outside of Orillia, Ontario or the Thornloe Cheese Store for home-made ice cream and deluxe grilled cheese sandwiches.  
Coming from Timmins (Airport) Northern Ontario (Approx 2 hour trip):
1. From Timmins airport head south on Airport Road for 5.6km.
2. Turn left on Laforest Road (signs for Laforest Road/Hwy 655 South)
3. Drive on Laforest Road for 4.9km
4. Turn right onto Hwy 655 South.
5. Drive on Hwy 655 South for 5.3 km
6. Turn left onto Hwy 101 East and drive for 67.1 km
7. Continue straight on for Hwy 11 South for another approx 65km.
8. Turn left onto Rosegrove road. Rosegrove Road is a well-maintained gravel road. Slow your speed to 30km/hr or less and watch the turns and for bunny rabbits/wildlife etc especially if you are arriving closer to sunset.
9. Drive on Rosegrove Road (stay straight-no turns) for 3.5km (approx 6 min) until you see a painted green sign (on the right hand side of the road) saying "McChesney Northshore Acres" and the small green firemarker sign saying "3130".
10. Turn right onto this cottage road. Please slow to 10km/hr or less. After approx 20 seconds you will see a fork in the cottage road - instead of driving straight take the fork to the left. You will see the six cabins in front of you.
11. Drive the 100m to behind the third cottage (coral pink in colour), park, and you will find the property manager inside ready to check you in.

Coming from the East/Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec:
1. Take Hwy 117 North until you reach the turn off on your left for Hwy 112 South (signs for North Bay).
2. Turn left onto Hwy 112 South and drive 12.1 km
3. Turn right onto Rosegrove Road.
4. Rosegrove road is a well-maintained gravel road. Slow your speed to 30km/hr or less and watch the turns and for bunny rabbits/wildlife etc especially if you are arriving closer to sunset.
5. Drive on Rosegrove Road (stay straight-no turns) for 3.0 km (approx 4 min) until you see a painted green sign (on the left hand side of the road) saying "McChesney Northshore Acres" and the small green firemarker sign saying "3130".
